Prepping the coop site

We finally figured out our coop and run site! I'm sure my close friends and family will be glad to hear as I'm sure my obsessing over the perfect spot and asking everyone's opinions a million times was starting to get to be a bit much.
(I never do that)
Site picked! Yes that right!

Off the shady side of our bunny run will be the perfect spot. We are planning on using the plastic shed we have them in right now in our basement so shade is a must. Now these projects are ones I'm taking on myself. For the shed to fit level on the ground I needed to build a base. Not yet comfortable with all the tool needed to build my own I thought of the perfect solution, use pallets!! I even had a few laying around so I was good to go.

I started prepping the site with my trusty pick axe and carved the grass and raked the site out to create a level spot to lay the pallets against the run. Of course I had a little helper with his mini tools.

Once the pallets were laid down and as level as they could be I dug a larger area in front where the doors will swing open.

Next we will cut back the roof of the run on the coop side. I'll wait for some help on that one. Maybe that will be when I finally get a lessen on how to use the saw. That will come in handy for the next projects I have in mind!!
So project complete for the day. Will post more on Sunday when we move the shed/coop to the site. Then next week I'll be building a large fenced in run behind the coop and run for the chickens, bunnies and soon the ducks too!!
