I decided this was the year to get a veggie garden built. No babies on my hips meant many hours of digging in the dirt for me!! Well at least during nap time.
So we mapped out a plot and the kids and I put the posts in. This was surprisingly not very difficult thanks to a tool we borrowed from pops.
(Thanks Pops!!)
Then it was time to clear it out. This took a lot of momma muscle with a pick and of course some helpful little people with their mini excavators and dump trucks.
But we did it!
No time to rest. It's almost time to get our seeds in the ground. So next we need fencing of course so I called in for back up. My great friend Tanya with tools in hand came to help. Lots of measuring, snipping, hammering and of course my favorite laughing and the project was complete in a few hours.
(Thanks Tanya!!!)
Today I built up a rock garden around the stump to plant strawberries and herbs in. Then finished raking it all even.
There is something about putting your own blood, sweat and tears into a project that makes it so rewarding. Well maybe not all those things or in that order, well you know what I'm getting at.
Love it!
Now it's time to figure out my garden layout and put down cardboard and then lovely soil that we will grow our delicious garden in.
We even got approval from some of our farm friends.
Will update you on the progress as we get more complete.
Now onto building our chicken run.
I can do it!!
