Yesterday I had finally rinsed a bucket of my kids beach and forest finds. They love to collect all sorts of shells, beach glass, rocks, pinecones, they list could go on and on. So I filled the sink and rinsed these gems and laid them on a towel over night to dry. This morning I decided to display them in a pretty white dish and placed them on our table.
Well this was not only a pretty idea it was also a perfect little dish for my littlest one to empty and play with. He spent a good amount of time playing with each and every item in the dish.
This was a wonderful way to enjoy my morning coffee. Describing each item, the color, shapes, texture and how it felt in his little hands seemed to light up his face. His little voice trying to repeat the words and making up his own little story for each piece in his 1 year old language.
If only we could stop time from moving so quickly and really embrace each and every simple moments. I hope to have this blog for years to come so I can look back and relive them.
This dish will be a fun surprise when my big kids get home from school. It's a great way to show them that their finds aren't just being set aside and ignored. It's a way to celebrate the nature that surrounds us and enjoy it in a different way.
Get out there and see what you can find!!
